The perfect gift can be difficult to find and costly to purchase. Filling up a DIY spa gift basket is much cheaper than purchasing fillers from the store and it looks absolutely adorable all put together. Plus who doesn’t love smelly stuff that’s all non-toxic?

I Can Make That
There is a store near me that sells clean body products. They’ve got soaps, lotions, oils, steamers, and even laundry soap. The first time I went, I was in awe. But kept thinking to myself, “I could make that.” I loved their simple packaging and funny descriptions of the scents. While walking around, I kept making little notes to myself about new product ideas or cute packaging. Later I took my best friend with me. She kept whispering, “You could make that” as we walked through the store. We both laughed and agreed that I should open a little farmstead to sell them from.

Filling the DIY Spa Gift Basket
Here comes the fun part. You can make this DIY spa gift basket as big or small as you’d like it to be. I like to start with one big thing and then fill in with medium and small items. Some of my favorites are a foot soak, hand scrub, or body butter. For this basket, I opted for fizzing bath salts.
Then I’ll add in some medium sized things to help fill the basket. Hair growth spray, a hair mask, and headache balm are some of my go to items. This time I put in some lotion bars. The working hands scent is very neutral and my family asks for them on repeat. I also use them every night before bed because I love them too!
Finally I tuck in some smaller items to finish up the basket. Chapstick, a diffuser blend, and a zit roller are perfect little items to add to the basket. I added in a cuticle oil roller bottle.

Packaging the DIY Spa Gift Basket
I found a little wire basket at the Dollar Tree. Thrift stores, garage sales, and after Easter sales are also ways to find inexpensive baskets.
Then I like to add in some extra things to help fill out the basket. For this one, I found a pumice stone, loofa, and a nail kit. This just helps to fill out the basket. Tissue paper or shredded paper also works to help fill up the extra space.
You can stop here or you can get fancy with it. I did add a card, but that was it. You can add a bow or even get cellophane to wrap it up like a store bought gift basket. You can get as fancy as you’d like with your DIY spa gift basket.
I used Canva to make some labels and tags. Making your own stickers is very easy with some vinyl sticker paper. I have a set of FREE Mother’s Day gift basket labels.

DIY Spa Gift Baskets Fit for Anybody
The best part about a homemade gift is the ability to customize it to the person you are giving it to. I made up several smaller gift bags for our Mother’s Day get together. Since my family enjoys camping and the outdoors, I added some bug bite relief sticks. My mom has a larger tub, so I gave her more fizzing bath salts.
This DIY spa gift basket would work for little girls, teens, young ladies, or grandmothers. For the younger crowd, bath bombs and chapstick are always a hit. Teens love a good hair mask or zit roller. Adults seem to like a sore muscle rub or hair growth spray.
