Long Hair is a Blessing…Usually
When I was a little girl my mom had long brown hair and I had short blond hair. I envied her long brown hair. I thought she looked like Laura Ingalls and I wanted to be like Laura. Fast forward 20 years, I now have the long brown hair I wished for as a kid. I look nothing like Laura Ingalls though. But I bet a good prairie dress and some braids tied up with red ribbons could change that!
I love my long hair. As I’ve gotten older, my hair has become curlier and darker. I keep it long because I’m terrified to go get a haircut. In 2014 donated to Locks of Love and the lady cut my entire ponytail off. I cried. A lot. I was known by my ponytail because that’s how I wore my hair every single day. So now I keep it long. It’s never been cut up past the bottom of my shoulder blades since that dreadful day in 2014.
Long hair is great…most of the time. It’s not so great when I’m cleaning out the shower drain where my hair hamster lives. I’ve learned not to put on chapstick before going outside on a windy day. When brushing my teeth I must be careful when I lean over to spit. Suddenly I need a shower to get the toothpaste out of my hair. Vacuum brushes are a joke. One trip around the house and they are wrapped in my hair. Like I said, long hair is a blessing…most of the time.

Using the Homemade Essential Oil Spray for Hair Growth
After showering, spray the mixture on your wet roots. Massage it in with your fingers. It won’t leave your hair greasy, so don’t worry. You can style your hair as normal too.
For best results spray your hair at least 3 times a week. This isn’t a magic potion, so you won’t notice the results overnight. Your results also depend on your hair.
Other Tips For Healthy Hair
Don’t wash your hair everyday. I have very oily hair, so I can only go a couple days without a wash. And you best believe that on day two it is French braided.
Use a wet brush on wet hair. My mom gets on to me for brushing my hair. I rip through the gnarls. When this is done to wet hair it is even worse. Using a wet brush is a gentler option and makes my mom happier.
Mix up your hair styles. I no longer wear my hair in a ponytail everyday. This gives the hair a break and prevents breaking. I switch between a ponytail, French braid, Dutch braid, and bun.
Avoid heat, like blow dryers, curling irons, and straighteners. I shower at night, so that my wet head can dry while I sleep. I’ve never really wanted to use curling irons or straighteners. They were too girly for me.
Embrace your natural color. God made you in His image, so embrace the color He gave you. Your hair will thank you big time for this.
Storing The Homemade Essential Oil Spray for Hair Growth
Sunlight causes essential oils to lose their effectiveness over time. Consequently, it is best to store them out of direct sunlight. This is why I keep my roller bottles in amber roller bottles and inside of a wooden drawer.
In addition, it is best not to store essential oils in plastic. They will cause it to deteriorate. Therefore, I recommend storing essential oils in amber or cobalt glass bottles.
