Soak the Day Away
I was excited about many things in our new house. One of the most exciting parts was the bathtub. It is a big jacuzzi tub. I can fill it up and sink low enough to actually keep warm. It certainly makes a perfect ending to a long day. Even my husband enjoys a bath every now and then in the big tub.
When I’m not feeling well, the first thing I do is take a good long bath. I’ve even been known to fall asleep in there. Even as a kid, I’d fall asleep in the tub. When I’m chilled, it’s the only thing that can truly warm me up. If I’m having sinus issues then I’ll add some DIY fizzing bath salts with essential oils to help relieve the congestion.
When I’ve had a long day at school, I jump in the tub to soak the day away. Adding some fizzing bath salts with a calming aroma melts away the stress and chaos. I can finally slow down and take some deep breaths that will help me keep my sanity. When I get out, I like to use some foot butter to help moisturize.
With so many essential oil options, there’s an aroma for everything.

Mix the bath salts around in the tub until they dissolve. It works best to place them directly under the faucet while running a warm bath.
Storing the DIY Fizzing Bath Salts
Like anything made with essential oils, the DIY fizzing bath salts are best kept in glass and away from direct sunlight. Because of the salt, the lid needs to be airtight. I put mine in a mason jar and keep them in the bathroom cabinet. Packaging them in spice jars makes great gifts.
