We love bacon, but it takes so long to fry it up in the pan. Not to mention the greasy mess it makes on my stove. So now I cook bacon in the oven! I can make enough for everybody in a single batch and there isn’t a greasy mess to clean up afterwards.

No Bacon Please
Growing up I thought that I disliked bacon. This was during a time that bacon was ridiculously popular. So I was told that I was unAmerican and crazy. My husband made bacon for breakfast one morning and I gave it another try. Since then I’ve enjoyed bacon, at least when he cooks it. He makes wobbly bacon instead of really crispy. So now we are a bacon eating family. In fact, I’d choose bacon over sausage any day.

Tips to Cook Bacon in the Oven
Increase or decrease the time, to get your desired level of crispiness.
Line the pan with parchment paper to keep your pan from getting really greasy. This makes cleaning up a breeze too.
When it comes time to clean up, throw a paper towel over the pan to absorb the grease. Then you don’t have to find a can to pour it into.
If you have chickens, you can put oats in the grease instead of a paper towel. They will absorb the grease and make a yummy treat for your birds.

Recipes for After You Cook Bacon in the Oven
Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap
After you cook bacon in the oven, you can put it in a chicken bacon ranch wrap for a fresh, protein-packed, lunch. It’s one of our summertime favorites.
Breakfast Burrito
Of course you can add the bacon to a breakfast burrito. It adds some protein and some flavor. I’ll often make extra bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns when I cook breakfast. Then I toss the leftovers in tortilla shells and freeze them for later. It makes busy mornings much easier.
English Muffin Breakfast Sandwich
Similar to the burrito, an English Muffin breakfast sandwich is a great way to use up leftover bacon. These yummy sandwiches can also be frozen for later. I much prefer them to Jimmy Dean.
