Creating a Homegrown and Homemade Life
How can you eat like a farmer without living on a farm? Sourcing real food on a budget is no easy task. It is much simpler to walk into Walmart and fill your cart. But you will pay for it with your health. Filing your body with real food as God intended, will take a bit more effort, but the long term benefits are totally worth it.
We love pizza around here! My husband would eat it for every meal if that were a choice. This sourdough fruit pizza is the perfect dessert for a crowd and the leftovers make a yummy breakfast. This simple recipe is a summer favorite. Even the kids can help make this dessert. Use some strawberries and blueberries for a festive Fourth of July treat.
Summer is almost here! Long hot days call for ice cream around here. I love making my own no-churn raw milk ice cream. It scoops nicely and can become any flavor that I wish. With temps in the upper 80’s and school almost out, it’s time for some serious ice cream consumption! Cone, sundaes, and banana splits are calling my name. Just in time for Memorial Day too!
Have you heard about the amazing benefits to drinking raw milk? More than likely the answer is no. You’ve probably heard scary stories about how it is bad for you though. Ever wondered why that might be? Our grandparents and great grandparents had no problem drinking raw milk, but it is a death sentence in the world we live in today. Why do I drink raw milk? Let me get up on my soapbox and tell you.
I love a hot breakfast in the morning, but there is no way I am willing to wake up earlier enough to make something before work. That’s why I love freezer meals that I can reheat without too much brain power. These English muffin freezer breakfast sandwiches are my new favorite. My husband and I both enjoy them. Easy, filling, not a lot of work. They check every box.
