Mother’s Day Gifts
When I ask what my mom wants for Mother’s Day the answer is always the same. “I don’t want you to spend any money on me.” Therefore, I’m usually left to figure out the perfect gift by myself. Through the years, I’ve found the gifts that are most appreciated and used the most are the ones made by hand and that come from the heart.
Although, we have long surpassed the days of construction paper cards and tissue paper flowers, I can get my craft on without any glue, glitter, or googly eyes. Now although my mom loves the idea of using essential oils, she doesn’t have any idea how to use them. I, on the other hand, have lots of oils and love creating products with them. I love being able to give gifts that the person would not do for themselves.

DIY Hand Scrub
Now that her feet are silky smooth and pampered. Likewise, these hands deserve pampering. They dried your tears, held your hand, and even wiped your stinky booty! Seriously, they deserve some TLC. Try this DIY Hand Scrub.
Ingredients
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup melted coconut oil
1 tablespoon of vitamin E oil
20 drops of lemon essential oil
Instructions
- First mix together ½ cup of white sugar and ½ cup of brown sugar.
- Then melt ½ cup coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of vitamin E oil.

DIY Nail Roller
Since Mom’s hands deserve nothing but the best let’s take care of her nails too. Now that she no longer has to break apart Lego bricks, she can grow her nails out. Use this nail roller to help her nails be strong as they grow. It will repay her for all of the nails she broke trying to put new batteries in your annoyingly loud toy.
Ingredients
2 drops lavender
2 drops lemon
1 drop myrrh
Instructions
- First add the essential oils to the roller bottle.
- Then top it off with fractionated coconut oil.
- Finally shake it well to mix up the blend.
- When needed apply on and around your finger nails. I suggest doing so at least daily.
Assembling a Mother’s Day Spa Basket
First of all, you need to find a small basket or container to put your handmade items in. Secondly, add some shredded paper to the bottom to help the items stand up and fill up your container. Another option would be a pair of fuzzy socks. Basically, you just need something to help make the containers stand up in the basket.
Lastly, it’s time to add some pretty labels to your DIY gifts. You can download my labels for free.

Finally put the taller items in the back and the shorter containers in the front. This makes it easier for everything to be seen. In addition, you can fill in the gaps with nail polish, finger nail files, socks, or toe separators for example. Any tiny spa accessories will help fill your basket if you so desire. I, for example, like to fill in with these Mother’s Day roller bottles.
