Candles vs Diffusers

Candles are normally made with paraffin wax. This is a deodorized petroleum waste product. When inhaled the chemicals are just as dangerous as second hand smoke. In order to make this waste product smell nice, it is packed with synthetic chemicals. These give off those pretty smells and help make the candle a pretty color. Now there are some candles that try to do better. Keep in mind soy is almost always genetically modified.  Beeswax is normally ok though.

We prefer diffusers in our house. I don’t have to worry about keeping the cat out of an open flame. Plus, I can change the scent every few hours if I so desire. I know exactly what’s going into the air. Plus they have actual health benefits as well. Can your candle do that?

This holiday diffuser blend brings a cozy smell to the space. Without being sweet or earthy. This combo smells spicy like grandma’s kitchen on cookie baking day.

Holiday Diffuser Blend 2: Cookies for Santa

7 Drops Vanilla, 4 Drops Cinnamon, 4 Drops Nutmeg

I love the smell of freshly baked cookies, but I really shouldn’t bake cookies everyday. This diffuser blend makes the house smell nice without the calories. The cinnamon and nutmeg makes it smell particularly festive.

Holiday Diffuser Blend 3: Oh Christmas Tree

5 Drops of Each Cypress, Douglas Fir, Spruce

We always get a live tree and I love the smell. If you love the smell of a Christmas tree, but don’t want the mess, then try this diffuser blend. It combines several types of Christmas tree smells. Be careful using this one around pets.

Holiday Diffuser Blend 4: Yule Log

7 Drops of Pine, 5 Drops Clove, 3 Drops Orange

A fire in the fireplace during the cold winter nights makes it feel cozy inside. The heat coming from the hearth. The smell of a fire after coming in from the snow does something to the soul. Cozy up with a warm flannel blanket and enjoy the smell of a fire without the mess with this holiday diffuser blend.
