You’ve Got Snake Hands
I teach special needs preschoolers. Therefore, I spend a lot of time washing hands. My hands. Kid hands. Baby doll hands. Hand prints. This leaves my hands very dry, especially during the cold winter months.
I commented that my hands felt like a snake because they were so dry. Later in the day, one of the kids was touching my hand with one finger like he was petting me. He looked me dead in the eyes and said, “You’re right. You do have snake hands.” I thanked him as this wasn’t the first time a student has commented on my snake hands.

What’s in the DIY Moisturizing Hand Soap?
Castile soap is the main ingredient in this recipe because, well, it’s soap! Unlike conventional soaps, castile soap does not strip the skin of its natural oils. This alone will help keep your hands moisturized.
Vitamin E oil is a common ingredient in moisturizers and soaps because it is good for the skin. It helps with the scaly feeling that leaves you with “snake” hands.
Aloe vera gel is also used to help moisturize the skin. It helps to soothe the skin and is easily absorbed. It’s good for more than just sun burns!
Sweet almond oil is one of the best for dry skin because it is a moisturizer and emollient. Moisturizers supply the skin with water and hold it in with oils. Emollients create a barrier over the skin to help hold the moisture in.
