Ta-Done!
I struggled to keep up on the housework. When I got home from work, it seemed like an insurmountable task. Laundry, dishes, dusting, sweeping, mopping, the list went on and on. I didn’t have the energy or mental capacity to keep track of it all. About once a month, I would wake up highly motivated on a Saturday morning. I’d spend the entire day cleaning the house from top to bottom. BOOM! Ta-Done! Nobody touch anything.
Then my aunt suggested I give Tody a try. I went through and put in my chores and how often they needed done. Then as I completed a task, I could mark it off my list. Now those things like washing the curtains and wiping down the walls didn’t need to be remembered. Tody just told me what my next chore needed to be. Now I live by the app and my homemaking is much better for it.

What is Tody?
Tody is an app to help you keep up on your chores and maintaining your home. It is a to-do list that reminds you to pull out the mop and change the air filter. If you wish, you can turn it into a game by competing with Dusty. He is a dust bunny that would prefer you not clean your house. As you complete a task, you can check it off your list. Tody will put your most overdue tasks at the top in red, so that you know what is most pressing.
Using Tody to Organize Your Life
Download the app. I believe there is now a small monthly fee to use it. It’s worth every penny.
Then you are going to go through each room of your house and add the chores that need to be completed in each room. I recommend you add anything you do in that room during the year. From the normal maintenance cleaning tasks to the deep cleaning and decorating.
You are able to have multiple people using the app. Decide who will be responsible for each chore and assign it to them. You can have this on a rotation if you wish. This would be great for getting kids and husbands involved. They no longer have to ask you what needs to be done. Tody will tell them.
Check the app daily to see what needs to be done for the day. Once the chore is complete, you can mark it off your list. There is also a vacation function, so that you can put your homemaking in vacation mode.
Using Tody to Organize Your Life: What to Add?
When using Tody to organize your life, think about what needs done in each room throughout the year.
I like to start with the daily tasks. These are things like sweeping the floors, wiping the counters, doing a load of laundry, scrubbing the sink, and loading the dishwasher.
Next I move on to the weekly tasks. This includes mopping the floor, cleaning the toilets, refilling the vinegar in the dishwasher rinse, dusting, and changing the sheets.
Then all that’s left is the infrequent tasks like wiping down the walls, cleaning the gutters, vacuuming the couch cushions, washing the throw blankets, and cleaning out the fridge.
The app offers suggestions for each room, if you are needing more inspiration. As I do things during the year, I make sure to add them to my list. This summer I washed all of the curtains, so I added it to my list and put it as a yearly task.
