John Deere DIY Office Supply Toolbox
When I became a teacher, the teacher toolbox was becoming very popular. I went to Lowes and bought a screw organizer. After designing, printing, and cutting I had a Harry Potter supply toolbox. Although it has gone through design changes as my classroom theme changed, the teacher toolbox has remained a staple in my classroom.
My husband has switched to working from home most of the time. We are finishing his office space this spring. He loves John Deere and I looked all over for some good office organizers that would fit with a John Deere theme. I never had any luck finding what I was looking for. He is also not one to stay very organized, so I needed something that would be simple for him to use.
So with my criteria being functional, manly, and John Deere green I set out to make a DIY office supply toolbox for his new office. With a trip to Lowes for another screw organizer and some paper that I already had on hand I came up with a John Deere office supply organizer.

How to Make the DIY Office Supply Organizer
Optional Painting
If you would like to paint the base of the office supply organizer, do that before creating the labels. Make sure to use paint that will stick well to plastic. I skipped this step because the black looked good with the John Deere colors.
Make the Labels
Print out these FREE customizable labels. I’ve found that the drawers aren’t deep enough for pencils, pens, or Sharpies. Keep this in mind as you are creating your drawer labels. The little drawers are great for USBs, push pins, paper clips and bandaids. The larger drawers work great for sticky notes, index cards, crayons, tape dispenser refills, and highlighters. I suggest either printing the labels on cardstock, laminating them, or both. This will make them more durable.
Attach the Labels
Double sided sticky tape will be your best friend. I’ve done it with packing tape and it takes forever. Save yourself the trouble and just buy the double sided tape. For the small drawers I used a piece on the top and bottom. For the larger drawers I put one on each side. They seem to hold well. I’ve never had an issue with them coming off.
Fill the Drawers
Now comes the fun part. It’s time to fill the drawers up with supplies. The best time to shop for office supplies is during the back to school sales in August. You’ll get the best deals and most options. I’m fond of Target, but you can find them just about anywhere that time of year.
